Hehe, love this video. Always loved taking this train line to various places. I stayed at a hotel at this station at 50:04 =). View of the Skytree too. Kinda funny to think if you fell asleep on this train, you might actually end up exactly where you got on lol.
I had the Yamanote line music as my ring tone and alarms. Gonna go japan my third time to western japan. I had it planned months before the Osaka earth quake and epic flooding in west japan. Hope everything gets better from here out.
A lot of people way you can get lost on Tokyo's innumerable commuter rail and subway lines. However, it's not as bad as some people think: if you can get to a JR East Yamanote Line station (as the stops are shown in this video), you have a reference on how to get around various areas of Tokyo. It is easily one of the most important commuter rail lines in all of Japan.
Try doing this in Indonesia and you will get looked at by security. Not to mention cabin carriages are all women-only at all times, sucks for men who want to have this kind of experience
Just some friendly feedback from one English speaker to another...your camera is mounted too high. All you really see is track. To make a better video I suggest lowering your camera view in order to capture the track as well as the outside scenery. Japan truly has a mass transit system to envy. Hopefully here in Los Angeles we can approximate their efficiency.
And I really love the melodies in the stations.
So many nice memories :3 Thanks for your video!

If you stick to the Yamanote line, you'll never be lost in central Tokyo. :)

Thank you so much ; merci beaucoup. I am a French Canadian who stayed two months in Tokyo in the fall of 2009.

まだ東京口の211系がいた時代。当時は当たり前に走ってたけど今はめっちゃ懐かしく見える。
Reminds me of my amazing holiday in Japan, I always took the Yamanote Line from Shinbashi to discover Tokyo.
Thank you for this video. Nostalgic

I like the Yamanote line
Was able to spend 1 week in Tokyo without speaking a word of Japanese. As long as you know the Yamanote, you can get around anywhere!
Awesome, thanks for this!
